3rd Annual Conference on Iran's Economy

The 2010 conference is scheduled to take place on October 15-16, 2010 at the University of Chicago (UC). The conference is organized by the Center for Middle Eastern Studies at UC and the Center for South Asian and Middle Eastern Studies (CSAMES) at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), with support from a host of academic units and community organizations and sponsors. The purpose of the conference is to provide a venue for the best current research on Iran’s economy and to generate information and encouragement for future high quality research in this subject.

This conference follows two earlier ones on Iran’s economy at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) in December 2008 and at the University of Southern California (USC) in September 2009, where similar objectives were pursued. All three universities have played major roles in the past in promoting research on Iran and in training Iranian economists.
